Community Watershed & Information Center

MKWC Watershed Center, Orleans, CA
|
The Community Watershed & Information
Center holds MKWC's office,
the Orleans/Somes Bar Fire Safe Council, the Klamath-Salmon Natural
History Library, the Klamath Salmon Media Collaborative, Klamath Riverkeeper, Judy and Bob Beaver's Therapeutic Massage and a
community space. MKWC and Orleans and Somes Bar community
members are currently committed to a
capital campaign
to purchase the Panamnik Building, which houses the watershed
council and community center. The 5,000 square foot center in the Panamnik
Building displays maps, posters, and other information about
watershed restoration projects and accomplishments, upcoming
projects, recreational opportunities, and natural history. The
Community Watershed & Information Center also contains retail space
for local artists and craftspeople to display their works and
computers with high speed internet available for public use.
Policies and procedures are being developed to coordinate use of
the center's community space. Ideas for uses that benefit the
community, raise funds to pay for the upkeep and purchase of the building, and do
not disturb office workers are welcome. Please
contact us if you have ideas for
the development of this community space or if you would like to
display local arts and crafts for sale. Hours, Dates, & Location
