Since its inception in 2001, MKWC has shown its dedication to conservation and restoration in all its forms and factions. Beginning with the Orleans/Somes Bar Fire Safe Council and forest management to stream enhancement and salmon restoration and moving through the watershed to include life that is so important to our ecosystem and livelihoods.

Over the past decace MKWC has participated in, and led numerous wildlife conservation efforts. While most of the wildlife projects are currently unfunded, we are always looking for ways to increase funding and re-invigorate species population. We are currently pursuing funding for the Roosevelt Elk Project.
