Trinity Alps Wilderness AreaChrisJimmy-Trinity-Alps.jpg

MKWC has surveyed for non-native invasive plant species in several areas of the very large Trinity Alps Wilderness Area (See map for details).  In collaboration with the Salmon River Restoration Council we are working to contain and eradicate priority species including, Dyer's woad (Isatis tinctoria), Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense) and European houndstongue (Cynoglossum officinale), from the wilderness area and trailheads.

This project has been made possible by support from the National Forest Foundation, collaboration with the Shasta-Trinity and Klamath National Forests and participation of MKWC's summer youth crew and AmeriCorps members.
